Dental Assisting

This is a 10 week course held on consecutive Saturdays from 8:00am - 5:00pm. The course will combine hands-on training, classroom lecture, and take home assignments. All classes will take place in a state of the art dental office, where students can learn the same techniques and procedures as used in a real setting. All aspects of dental assisting will be covered including oral health, anatomy, dental charting, infection control and sterilization procedures, management of hazardous materials, preparation for patient care, chair side assisting skills, dental instruments and tray systems, dental radiography, topical and local anesthesia, dental cements and restorative materials and techniques, laboratory materials and techniques, endodontics, oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, fixed prosthodontics, and removable prosthodontics. The best way to improve your skills and confidence in your future career is through hands-on training and observation of live procedures. As a part of our unique externship, there will also be the opportunity to work in a professional dental office and observe doctors and assistants treating patients. Successful completion of the course requires passing of written quizzes and examinations as well as competence in clinical procedures. Upon completion each student will receive a Graduation Certificate and a Letter of Recommendation.
